    "standard" I/O compatibility

Don't forget the I2C. The LCD could even be wired to the I2C socket (via I2C backpack for LCD), so reuse the 2 lines (SDA,SCL) of the existing I2C output created on the X16 (instead of many lines for direct LCD wiring). As we can connect several sensors on a single I2C bus, it is a Win-Win solution.

    "standard" I/O compatibility

About Ethernet on X16 I would like to share my own experiment with Arduino and MicroPython with WizNet5500 modules wich are already dealing with the complex part of TCP stack. They are available for Arduino ( https://www.adafruit.com/product/2971 ) or Feather (Adruino alike, still W5500 module (...

Does the price really matter (that much)?

Price can also be compressed by selling it as a kit, having the case as an option could also helps to lower the price. Assembling it would certainly offer a great time and completly inline with the idea of "understanding what's inside the box" :) regards, Dominique

    Buying Vera board ?

It is the reason why I'm so interested by the Vera board. There is really a lack in this area and would be really happy to bring MicroPython (pyboard) to retrogaming level. Very, very, very impatient so see the Vera Board coming. It would also be a nice board to show on the Maker Faire we attend...

    Buying Vera board ?

Indeed, the work made on FabGL for ESP32 (FabGL GitHub, see the videos on the readme) is really impressive. There is also a VT100 terminal emulator (over WiFi). This may offer a some alternative for projets... even if it is not a native Maker's video board.

    Buying Vera board ?

@TomXP411 Your request was it long time ago? I would be really happy with some prototype... if the problem reside in "small serie" production, there is maybe a solution on this side of the world. Cheers, Dominique

Combining / splitting Audio outputs on Pi, Fona, amp?

Hi, Based on the TomXP411, I did check for an passive audio mixer schematic and I did find this one on the DiyStrat blog Two-channel passive mini-mixer Using logartihmic potentiometer is certainly more appropriate for audio setup (@TomXP411 could you confirm this assumption?). Kind regards...
