    Looking for your opinion

Yes, capacitors are a bit problematic, whatever it is I'm sure it can be repaired, it's just a matter of identifying the problem, the P80 sounds quite interesting as I've never heard of it?, hope you are having a good weekend Thanks, Joe

    Looking for your opinion

Hi mate, Most likely the pop you heard was the power supply, Commodore power supplies are notorious for 'exploding', sounds like a good sleeper concept, as to the other computer I'm drawing a blank, could possibly be another version of the 64 for Europe, who knows, anyway welcome to the forum...

    Looking for your opinion

I think (as others have said) the 2001 is definitely out of the running, the calculator keyboard as cool as it looks is actually plain horrible to use, I'm actually quite interested in this, I attempted something similar, my concept was to fit a Mac Mini into a Macintosh S/E case with upgrades...

The C64 mini and full size

Same here, BASIC is an absolute nightmare on the Mini, it would of been helpful if they included the graphics characters on the software keyboard, but other than that it's a good system

    What's your favorite Commodore?

To be honest, as great as the 128, 64 and Amiga are, I've always been an avid fan of the PET, I just love it's design astetic and 'all-in-one' design, and, believe it or not, I love the chiclet keyboard on the 2001 series

    Commodore 64 help

Hardware isn't really my 'ball park', but have you looked at the actual connectors for the video cable, they have a tendency to start getting flaky and need re-soldering, that's really all I can think of Regards, Joe

    New Project

UPDATE: Ok, so once again I've gone quiet for nearly a month on this, I got a bit distracted and essentially this project has evolved into me building my fantasy computer system, so I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm pretty much dropping the whole IMSAI Concept, but I'd like to thank everyone...

    New Project

UPDATE (Sort Of...): Ok, so I realize I've gone a bit quiet on this project and me and my father had some quite good ideas, one of which would actually drop the Pi from this project (which I don't really want to do), Idea 1: This would stick with the Pi but would step away from using the...

    New Project

Thanks Tom, can't thank you enough, I was actually going to start with something simpler but this seems quite good, I've been away recently so I haven't even got around to doing the case designs but when I get some free time I will

    New Project

Thanks for the advice, I've dropped the 'only use materials lying around the house' rule so I plan to start working on some designs

    New Project

Hi all, Thought this would be the best place to talk about this as it will run on a Pi in the end, I was watching WarGames earlier today and thought about my yearning for an Imsai 8080 but obviously as we know... I can't afford an 8080, so after watching WarGames I realised that I didn't have a...

    DOOM ST/Falcon port ?

Had a sneaking suspicion that it would run on a Falcon, I discovered a long forgotten forum (probably from the late 90's) where there was an argument over a DOOM port for the Falcon, thanks lucius !

    DOOM ST/Falcon port ?

Hi all, I'm a new member of the forum but ever since before I joined I've had an idea at the back of my head, would it be possible to do a DOOM port for the ST, most probably the Falcon, I've heard about it but I'd like to get a second opinion. Regards, Joe

    Hello from England

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I thought I might introduce myself, I'm Joe and I'm a lifelong retro computer fan, my favourite systems are the C64, ZX81 (Timex Sinclair 1000 if you are in the U.S.) and anything running MS-DOS, I look forward to getting to know you in the future. Regards Joe
