Splitting Raspberry Pi 3B+ USB Ports

In my current project, I have an HDMI display connect to my Pi, and the capacitive touchscreen connects via micro usb to the usb on the Pi. I've another item that will probably also connect via micro usb to usb. All of this I will be putting into a case, and I'd rather not have a cable running...

    CX16 Keyboard.

RetroManCave is doing a series of videos on upgrading an Amiga 500 ++, including a Vampire accelerator and keyboard adapter so you can use USB keyboards with it... just wondering if this could be adapted to be used with such a machine... I'd just as soon use it as the keyboards presented in his...

    Easter Egg in the Kernal!

In the Fred Saberhagen story "The Annihilation of Angor Aperion" , a ship is boarded by "berserkers" (think robotic borg). A researcher for the Encyclopedia Galactica prevents the crew from destroying his copy of the encyclopedia before the berserkers can get it, thus giving them information on...

    "standard" I/O compatibility

oh. thanks for the info... I've heard of Lua; I think Lightwave used it as a scripting language... and I vaguely recall coming across something about Lua in connection with the SIM5320A Adafruit FONA cellular module.

    "standard" I/O compatibility

One of the things I do whenever I get a new vintage computer, or get one working, is get it onto my network. Doesn't matter; even my Psion handheld, I gotta get it on my network before I'm satisfied. Some of this is to facilitate transferring data. Some is just bloody-mindedness... I think it...

Does the price really matter (that much)?

I, too, am poor, but I love vintage computers, so I'm distressed at the rising prices on ebay. A lot of it is finally owning machines I had no hope of owning when they were new. A lot of it is following the PC path I missed out on in the 80s/90s by following the Amiga path. A lot of it is...

Planet X3 on the HP 200LX?

okay, I copied the digital download 720k folder to my 200LX. (it works okay on dosbox on my win7 and linuxmint pcs) It displayed the video mode menu... and then locked up tighter than a drum. I had to pull the backup battery to get it to function again. So much for that :(

    cc65 help

I just downloaded a snapshot for Windows, and I just installed cc65 for debian Linux following instructions here: Installing CC65 Not sure now how best to go about using it; I'll need to probably configure Geany to build for/with cc65. But I'm excited at the idea of both programming the X16...

Combining / splitting Audio outputs on Pi, Fona, amp?

So I'm building myself a PiPhone (it's been a very educational and exciting experience, so far!) I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and an Adafruit FONA Sim5320A module (also battery, powerboost, etc). The display I'll be using is a 5" HDMI capacitive display. My dilemma; The FONA has audio out both...

What does the '16' in X16 Represent?

He said in a video that he's still toying with the idea of using a 65816... I hope he does.

    Adafruit / GPIO Compatibility?

Okay, I feel stupid... I just checked the FAQ thread... and saw where they are, in fact, going for Arduino shield compatibility. Once I get over feeling stupid, I'm going to get real excited over this.

    Commander X16 in a Checkmate 1500+ Case?

Retro Man Cave had a video recently where he built an Amiga 500++ and put it in the Checkmate 1500+ case. Naturally I immediately wondered if the Commander X16 would fit in that case. For those who don't know, the Checkmate 1500+ is a case that looks a LOT like an Amiga 3000 case, but will fit...

    Adafruit / GPIO Compatibility?

I've been working on a Raspberry Pi project of late, and spending a lot of time on Adafruit's website both looking for info and components. Looking at all the cool toys on their website, I thought maybe being able to use some of them with the Commander X-16 would be very cool. I mean, they have...
