Disable and remove .DS_Store files stored on network locations

Not specifically SBC related, but in building my Raspberry Pi NAS, this irritated me to no end. My Mac creates .DS_store files all over the place and it looks terrible on my WIndows and Linux boxes that are connected. Here's how to kill it:

.DS_Store files contain extended attributes created by Finder in Mac OS X. Such as folder colors and icon positions. They are completely unnecessary on network shares.

To stop MacOS from creating them, open a Terminal and run the following:

1defaults write com.apple.desktopservices DSDontWriteNetworkStores true

If you're on a RPi NAS, just delete them from the command line. I also killed them on my Synology NAS, by SSHing into the box and running the following:

1find / -name .DS_Store -delete

Good riddance!
