Hi there, Tommy here, greetings from Germany :)
36yr old (usually yearly incrementing), software and web developer and designer (VB.Net), as well as Assembler (AVR microcontroller).
Started programming Basic as I was 7 on a Schneider CPC464 with the good old datasette (as it was called at least here). Well... Maybe not really programming at this age, but typing listings, and I got some small programs by myself, like the classic "hello world", so I stay at this language :)

Hello everyone! A fellow retro-person here from Asia; discovered the forum while searching for the latest update on David's dream computer. Looking forward for its completion sometime in the near future and hoping to purchase one as well.

I tend to think of the three Commodore-ish projects as complementary, not competeitive:

The Mega 65, the C256 Foenix, and the Commander 16 are all different enough and have different goals that I may get all three.

And don't forget the FPGA Spectrum system (I don't know the name off the top of my head), the Altairduino, and the new ESP32 Imsai 8080 emulator. There's a pretty full deck of 6502 and 8080 based retro projects out there right now.

Also, welcome! It's good to have you here.

Looks like a great forum, this. Much to learn from just browsing through. So many of my interests collected in one place.
Basically I'm a Commodore guy, since those were the first computers I had (VIC20, C64, A600), but I'm also intrigued by other 8 bit machines, like the Amstrad CPC464 and the ZX Spectrum which someone I knew had back then. Oh, and the IBM-clones by Commodore just fascinates me, for some reason, even though I didn't think much of them back then. Even programming Arduinos and the Raspberry Pi is something I enjoy now and again. Looking forward to frequenting the forum in the future.

Cheers from Denmark!
